حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى الْحِمْصِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ نَفْسًا لَنْ تَمُوتَ حَتَّى تَسْتَوْفِيَ رِزْقَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ أَبْطَأَ عَنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ خُذُوا مَا حَلَّ وَدَعُوا مَا حَرُمَ .

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگو! اللہ سے ڈرو، اور دنیا طلبی میں اعتدال کا راستہ اختیار کرو، اس لیے کہ کوئی اس وقت تک نہیں مرے گا جب تک اپنی روزی پوری نہ کر لے گو اس میں تاخیر ہو، لہٰذا اللہ سے ڈرو، اور روزی کی طلب میں اعتدال کا راستہ اختیار کرو، صرف وہی لو جو حلال ہو، اور جو حرام ہو اسے چھوڑ دو ۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: O people, fear Allah and be moderate in seeking a living, for no soul will die until it has received all its provision, even if it is slow in coming. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking provision; take that which is permissible and leave that which is forbidden.
