It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah used to say: 'Allahumma, anfa'ni bima 'allamtani, wa 'allimnima yanfa'uni, wa zidni 'ilman. Wa'l-hamdu Lillahi 'ala kulli hal. [O Allah, benefit me by that which You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase my knowledge. Praise is to Allah in all circumstances].'

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے تھے: اے اللہ! میرے لیے اس چیز کو نفع بخش اور مفید بنا دے جو تو نے مجھے سکھایا ہے، مجھے وہ چیز سکھا دے جو میرے لیے نفع بخش اور مفید ہو، اور میرا علم زیادہ کر دے، اور ہر حال میں ساری تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں ۔
