Sunan Ibn Majah 2847 - The Chapters On Jihad

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ ذَهَبَتْ فَرَسٌ لَهُ فَأَخَذَهَا الْعَدُوُّ فَظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ فِي زَمَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَبَقَ عَبْدٌ لَهُ فَلَحِقَ بِالرُّومِ فَظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيْهِ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   ان کا ایک گھوڑا چلا گیا، اور اسے دشمن نے پکڑ لیا، پھر مسلمان ان پر غالب آ گئے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں وہ انہیں لوٹایا گیا، ان کا ایک غلام بھی بھاگ گیا، اور روم ( کے نصاریٰ ) سے جا ملا، پھر مسلمان ان پر غالب آ گئے، تو خالد بن ولید رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات کے بعد ان کو واپس کر دیا ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said that a horse of his went out and the enemy captured it. Then the Muslims defeated them and it was returned to him. (That was) during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: “And a slave of his absconded and joined up with the Romans, then the Muslims defeated them, and Khalid bin Walid returned him to me, after the death of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).”
