حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاق الْهَرَوِيُّ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْيَشْكُرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ الضَّبَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ قَذِرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّهُ لَطَعَامُ عَامَّةِ الرِّعَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيَنْفَعُ بِهِ غَيْرَ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَوْ كَانَ عِنْدِي لَأَكَلْتُهُ .

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ضب ( گوہ ) کو حرام نہیں کیا، لیکن آپ نے اسے ناپسند فرمایا، اور وہ عام چرواہوں کا کھانا ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے ذریعہ متعدد بہت سارے لوگوں کو فائدہ دیتا ہے، اور وہ اگر میرے پاس ہوتی تو اسے میں ضرور کھاتا۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah: “The Prophet (ﷺ) did not forbid (eating) mastigures, but he found that distasteful. It is the food of most shepherds, and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has benefited more than one person thereby. If I had some I would eat it.”
