حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُنِيرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ نُسَيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ خَبَّابَ بْنَ الْأَرَتِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِيَّاكَ وَالْخَمْرَ،‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ خَطِيئَتَهَا تَفْرَعُ الْخَطَايَا،‏‏‏‏ كَمَا أَنَّ شَجَرَتَهَا تَفْرَعُ الشَّجَرَ .

Urdu Translation

خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: شراب سے بچو، اس لیے کہ اس کے گناہ سے دوسرے بہت سے گناہ پھوٹتے ہیں جس طرح ایک درخت ہوتا ہے اور اس سے بہت سی شاخیں پھوٹتی ہیں ۔

English Translation

‘Ubadah bin Samit said: “I heard Khabbab bin Arat narrating that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Beware of wine! For its sins overwhelm other sins, just as the grapevine overwhelms other trees.’”
