It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) visited a man (who was sick) and said to him: “What do you desire?” He said: “I want wheat bread.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever has wheat bread, let him send it to his brother.” Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When a sick person among you desires something, give it to him.”

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَكِينٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَادَ رَجُلًا،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ مَا تَشْتَهِي؟ ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَشْتَهِي خُبْز بُرٍّ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ خُبْزُ بُرٍّ،‏‏‏‏ فَلْيَبْعَثْ إِلَى أَخِيهِ ،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا اشْتَهَى مَرِيضُ أَحَدِكُمْ شَيْئًا فَلْيُطْعِمْهُ .

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کی عیادت فرمائی، اور اس سے پوچھا: تمہارا کیا کھانے کا جی چاہتا ہے ؟ تو اس نے جواب دیا کہ گیہوں کی روٹی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم میں سے جس کے پاس گیہوں کی روٹی ہو، وہ اپنے بھائی کے پاس بھیجے ، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کوئی مریض کسی چیز کی خواہش کرے تو وہ اسے کھلائے ۔
