Sunan Ibn Majah 3866 - Supplication

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَائِذُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا دَعَوْتَ اللَّهَ،‏‏‏‏ فَادْعُ بِبُطُونِ كَفَّيْكَ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا تَدْعُ بِظُهُورِهِمَا،‏‏‏‏ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ،‏‏‏‏ فَامْسَحْ بِهِمَا وَجْهَكَ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کرو تو اپنے ہاتھ کی اندرونی ہتھیلیوں سے دعا کیا کرو، ان کی پشت اپنی طرف کر کے دعا نہ کرو، پھر جب دعا سے فارغ ہو جاؤ تو اپنے ہاتھ اپنے منہ پر پھیرو ۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that : the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: When you supplicate to Allah, supplicate with your palms uppermost, not with the backs of your hands uppermost, and when you finish, wipe your face with them.
