حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ:‏‏‏‏ يَتَعَوَّذُ،‏‏‏‏ إِذَا سَافَرَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَآبَةِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْحَوْرِ بَعْدَ الْكَوْرِ،‏‏‏‏ وَدَعْوَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ،‏‏‏‏ وَسُوءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ ،‏‏‏‏ وَزَادَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ،‏‏‏‏ فَإِذَا رَجَعَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مِثْلَهَا.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن سرجس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سفر کرتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے: ( اور عبدالرحیم کی روایت میں ہے کہ آپ پناہ مانگتے تھے ) :«اللهم إني أعوذ بك من وعثاء السفر وكآبة المنقلب والحور بعد الكور ودعوة المظلوم وسوء المنظر في الأهل والمال» اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں سفر کی صعوبتوں اور مشقتوں سے، واپسی کے غم سے، ترقی کے بعد تنزلی سے، اور مظلوم کی بد دعا سے اور اہل و عیال کے سلسلے میں برا منظر دیکھنے سے ۔ اور ابومعاویہ کی روایت میں یہ اضافہ ہے کہ سفر سے لوٹتے وقت بھی یہی دعا پڑھتے

English Translation

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Sarjis said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say” – and (one of the narrators) ‘Abdur-Rahim said: “he used to seek refuge” – “when he traveled: ‘Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min wa’tha’is-safar, wa ka’abatil-munqalab, wal-hawri ba’dal-kawr, wa da’watil-mazlum, wa su’il-manzari fil-ahli wal-mal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the hardships of travel and the sorrows of return, from decrease after increase, from the prayer of the one who has been wronged, and seeing some calamity befall my family or wealth).’” (One of the narrators) Abu Mu’awiyah added: “And when he returned he said likewise.”
