Sunan Ibn Majah 3993 - Tribulations

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ افْتَرَقَتْ عَلَى إِحْدَى وَسَبْعِينَ فِرْقَةً،‏‏‏‏ وَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي سَتَفْتَرِقُ عَلَى ثِنْتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ فِرْقَةً،‏‏‏‏ كُلُّهَا فِي النَّارِ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً وَهِيَ الْجَمَاعَةُ .

Urdu Translation

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بنی اسرائیل اکہتر فرقوں میں بٹ گئے، اور میری امت بہتر فرقوں میں بٹ جائے گی، سوائے ایک کے سب جہنمی ہوں گے، اور وہ «الجماعة» ہے، ( وہ جماعت جو میری اور میرے صحابہ کی روش اور طریقے پر ہو ) ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The Children of Israel split into seventy-one sects, and my nation will split into seventy-two, all of which will be in Hell apart from one, which is the main body.”
