Sunan Ibn Majah 4000 - Tribulations

حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى اللَّيْثِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَامَ خَطِيبًا،‏‏‏‏ فَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مُسْتَخْلِفُكُمْ فِيهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَنَاظِرٌ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ،‏‏‏‏ أَلَا فَاتَّقُوا الدُّنْيَا،‏‏‏‏ وَاتَّقُوا النِّسَاءَ .

Urdu Translation

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خطبہ دینے کھڑے ہوئے، تو اس خطبہ میں یہ بھی فرمایا: دنیا ہری بھری اور میٹھی ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ تمہیں اس میں خلیفہ بنانے والا ہے، تو وہ دیکھے گا کہ تم کیسے عمل کرتے ہو؟ سنو! تم دنیا سے بھی بچاؤ کرو، اور عورتوں سے بھی ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up to deliver a sermon and one of the things that he said was: “This world is fresh and sweet, and Allah will make your successive generations therein, so look at what you do and beware of (the temptations of) this world and beware of (the temptations of) women.”
