Baab Jannat Ka Wasf Aur Is Ki Naimaton Ka Tazkira

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ سورة آل عمران آية 102،‏‏‏‏ وَلَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قَطَرَتْ فِي الْأَرْضِ،‏‏‏‏ لَأَفْسَدَتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مَعِيشَتَهُمْ،‏‏‏‏ فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ طَعَامٌ غَيْرُهُ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ آیت: «يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون» اے ایمان والو! اللہ سے ڈرو جیسا کہ اس سے ڈرنے کا حق ہے اور تمہیں موت نہ آئے مگر اس حال میں کہ تم مسلم ہو ( آل عمران: ۱۰۲ ) تلاوت کی اور فرمایا: زقوم ( تھوہڑ ) کا ایک قطرہ ( جہنمیوں کی خوراک ) زمین پر ٹپک جائے، تو ساری دنیا والوں کی زندگی تباہ کر دے، تو پھر ان لوگوں کا کیا حال ہو گا جن کے پاس اس کے سوا کوئی کھانا نہ ہو گا ۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited: “O you who believe! Have fear of Allah as is His due, and die not except as Muslims. [3:102] (Then he said): ‘If a drop of Zaqqum were to be dropped on the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of the people of this world, so how about those who have no food other than it (i.e. Zaqqum)?’
