حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَادَتْ بَنُو سَلِمَةَ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ إِلَى قُرْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَرِهَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعْرُوا الْمَدِينَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ أَلَا تَحْتَسِبُونَ آثَارَكُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَقَامُوا.

Urdu Translation

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   بنو سلمہ نے ارادہ کیا کہ وہ اپنے پرانے گھروں کو جو مسجد نبوی سے فاصلہ پر تھے چھوڑ کر مسجد نبوی کے قریب آ رہیں، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ کی ویرانی کو مناسب نہ سمجھا، اور فرمایا: بنو سلمہ! کیا تم اپنے نشانات قدم میں ثواب کی نیت نہیں رکھتے؟ ، یہ سنا تو وہ وہیں رہے جہاں تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Anas said: Banu Salimah wanted to move from their homes to somewhere near the mosque, but the Prophet did not want the outskirts of Al-madinah to be left vacant, so he said: 'O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps?' So they stayed (where they were).
