The committee emphasized Pakistan's commitment to regional peace and its own experiences as a victim of terrorism. It warned that any unwarranted actions by India would be met with a proportionate and effective response.Concerns were also raised over India's unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, closure of the Attari border, and the recall of diplomats, actions perceived as escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
The committee, which met under the chairmanship of MNA Fathullah Khan at Parliament House, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and strongly condemned the attack. It reiterated that Pakistan, as a responsible state and a victim of terrorism itself, remains committed to regional peace and stability.
In its official statement, the committee emphasized that any baseless accusations from India not only mislead the public but also escalate tensions between two nuclear-armed nations. It further warned that if India takes any unwarranted steps, Pakistan is fully capable of responding effectively and appropriately.
The committee also voiced serious concerns over India’s unilateral actions, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the closure of the Attari border, and the recall of diplomats, warning that such moves could further strain bilateral relations.
The Defence Committee urged the international community to take note of India’s inflammatory rhetoric and baseless blame-game, which undermines efforts for peace in the region.
