Ingredients
  1. For the crust
  2. 1/2 cup crushed digestive or marie biscuits
  3. 1 1/2 tbsp melted low fat butter
  4. For the apple filling
  5. 1/4 cup crushed digestive or marie biscuits
  6. 1 1/2 tbsp melted low fat butter
  7. 2 tbsp brown bread crumbs
  8. 1 recipe Stewed Fruit
  9. 3/4 tsp sugar substitute
  10. 1/4 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
  11. 1 1/2 tbsp raisins (kismis), soaked in
  12. 3 tbsp water
  13. For the topping
  14. 2 tbsp quick cooking rolled oats
  15. 1/2 tsp melted low fat butter
Method
  • For the crust
  • Combine the biscuits and butter in a bowl and mix well to form a crumbly mixture.
  • Spread this mixture on the bottom of a 150 mm. (6") diameter loose-bottomed cake tin and press well to form even layer.
  • Refrigerate till set.
  • For the apple filling
  • Combine the biscuits and butter in a bowl and mix well.
  • Add the stewed apples, bread crumbs, sugar substitute, cinnamon powder and raisins and mix well.
  • Keep aside.
  • For the topping
  • Combine the oats with the butter and mix well. Keep aside.
  • How to proceed
  • Spread the prepared apple filling onto the crust evenly.
  • Sprinkle the topping on it and place in a pre-heated oven at 150º C (300º F) for 20 minutes.
  • Remove, cut into 6 equal pieces and serve warm.
