INGREDIENTS

1 onion

2 green chillis

1-inch fresh root ginger

1 clove garlic

1 lb. minced beef

1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon ground cummin seeds

2 teaspoons ground almonds

2 slices white bread, crumbed

1egg

good squeeze of lemon juice salt to taste

Oil for frying

FOR THE CURRY

1 onion

2 green chillis

1-inch fresh root ginger

1 clove garlic

oil for frying

1 tablespoon ground coriander seeds

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

2 teaspoons ground cummin seeds ½ teaspoon chilli powder

salt to taste

½ pint (U.S. 1 ¼ cups) water

1 oz. creamed coconut

4 curry or bay leaves

METHOD

Mince onion, chillis, ginger and garlic very finely and put in a bowl with all the other ingredients for the meat balls. Mix well and shape into small balls the size of a walnut. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry meat balls till brown. Drain and keep aside. Now make the curry by finely mincing the onion, chillis, ginger and garlic separately. Fry the onion in a little oil till brown. Add the chillis, ginger and garlic, fry for 1-2 minutes and then add the dry spices and salt. Fry for five minutes, sprinkle with water and continue to fry for another five minutes. Add the water, creamed coconut and curry or bay leaves. Simmer for 20 minutes adding more water if necessary. Add the meat balls and cook for a further 10 minutes.

I made this last night and it turned out really good..cant believe how quick its ready very easy to make and tasty it is..know will try this recipe with chicken lets see how it will be in taste
