Split Egyptian Lentils – Looking for a unique and delicious recipe online? Try the new Split Egyptian Lentils recipe by simply checking the method on our page. You can serve it as a tea time snack or at lunch or dinner time as per your desire. Hide

INGREDIENTS

1) Red lentil (split Egyptian) 1 cup

2) Garlic and ginger paste 1 tsp

3) Red chilies powder 1 tsp

4) Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

5) Onion 1 small size, sliced

6) Salt to taste

7) Dalda or your choice of Banaspati Ghee 4 tbsp

Fried Garnish

1) Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp

2) Garlic pieces 4

3) Red chili whole 2

METHOD

1. Wash lentils with warm water, put in a pan with 3 cups water, all the spices, garlic and ginger paste and onion.
2. Cook till the lentils are tender then add green chili and let it simmer.
3. Fry garlic, cumin seeds and red whole chili in banaspati and add to the lentils.
4. Serve hot.
