Ingredients
  1. 12 large tomatoes
  2. 3 tablespoons vinegar
  3. 4 cloves garlic
  4. ½ oz. raisins
  5. ½ oz. salt
  6. ½ oz. sugar
  7. 2
  8. ½ oz. chilli powder
  9. ¼ oz. ground mustard seeds
Method
  • Scald and skin the tomatoes, then parboil them in the vinegar. Crush the garlic and add with all the other ingredients to the tomatoes. Allow it to stand for 12 hours and then boil over a low heat for 20 minutes. When cold, bottle and seal. This chutney will keep for three to four weeks.
