| LAHORE: The Lahore stock market on Monday recorded some fresh buying which pushed the LSE 25-share index up by 19.11 points to 3,067.66.
In the morning, trading started on a positive note and the index moved upwards. However, some profit-taking was done in the first half. Later, the petroleum sector saw fresh buying which led the rally and the market closed with a gain of 19 points.
Overall shares of 120 companies were traded, of which 37 rose, 43 fell and 40 remained unchanged at their previous levels. Total trading volume was 17.642 million shares. Lafarge Pakistan Cement was on top of the list with trading in 5.158 million shares.
Engro Corporation, Pakistan Oilfields, OGDC, Pak Petroleum, Nishat Mills, Packages, DG Khan Cement, Byco Petroleum, Engro Polymer and Chemical and Soneri Bank were major gainers of the day. Main losers were Agriauto Industries, Mari Gas Company, Ibrahim Fibres, ARL, Habib Bank, United Bank, MCB, PSL, IGI Investment Bank and First Habib Modaraba.
