Shift in Investment Trends

Shopping is a hobby, addition, escape and necessity also but this craze of shopping in increasing demands of markets and shopping malls. This started a trend of investment in brands and shopping malls which added to the beauty of cities but it also causes a shift of investment in the country many well knows investors like Mian Muhammmad Mansha owner of Emporium Mall (Lahore ) he previously invested in MCB and Yunus brothers Group owner of Lucky One Mall (Karachi ) who previously invested in ICI and Lucky cement are seeing investing in malls instead though it is not very beneficial for economy as It does not create much employment opportunities as investment in corporation does, it creates less revenue for government then corporations and it is also effecting local market by creating completion in the market which is sometimes hard to compete but on the other hand it has also improved the standard of local brands. They promoted one stop shopping. Shopping Mall culture is enhancing Pakistan’s economy in multiple fronts, thanks to the expanding network of Malls more and more foreign retailers starting their operations in Pakistan including Zara, Mango, Nike, Hyper star and Al Fateh etc. which helps Pakistani consumers to take a look with Global standards and if required can have it as well, shopping malls helps to change the perception towards that place and it helps to raise the monetary value of nearby land as well, due to rent, taxes and for various services shopping Malls contributing to Economy besides direct and indirect employment and it provides many amenities like quality theaters for movies like Cine gold and Cineplex etc. which helped in revival of movie theater trend , playing area for children to keep them entertained and food court for foodies etc. Shopping malls are helping in bring in capital as many foreign investors including Walmart and Carrefour are taking keen interest in investing in malls. Investment in these projects helps bringing in change and changes are beneficial for growth.
