The Violence In The University Of Karachi
It was a fine afternoon at
about 12:30 when we were waiting for our teacher outside the class, we heard
different noises that wholly sounds "clash hugya". We ran towards our department
and then we have come to know from our student's advisor Sir Zeeshan that the
clash had been happened between the students organizations i.e. A.P.M.S.O and
Islami Jamiat Talba in the arts lobby. We were so afraid by that and followed
Sir's advice to leave the university as quick as possible.
The reason is not exactly known even now. A very strong reason in my opinion is
that the A.P.M.S.O is planning to celebrate the "White Day" and perhaps Jamiat
Talba does not want them to. But whatever may be the reason of this mishap, it
costs death of four innocents.
A news channel reported that this sad incident claims four innocent lives.
Though the Rangers and Police were present at the spot but their presence was so
useless because they are not supposed to intrupt. The campus is still kept close
for days.
It was not the first clash, these student parties are being engaged in such sort
of activities now and then. Since I have been studying here, I witnessed
different student parties indulge in fierce fighting. And the worst part of
these clashes is that they just forget "humanity" while taking part in these
blood shed.
On one hand we are enchanting "peace" and protesting "violence" and demanding
the same for our country and city and on the other hand the students of
Karachi's one of the biggest and reputed university are killing one another in
the name of their parties.
Well, I strongly condemn these mishaps and violence in the campus because it
disturbs the schedule of studies and also spreads the "fear" in the campus.
After analysing the conditions of such voilence in university, I am in a doubt
that, that time will be very near when parents will not allow their wards to get
education from the institution. And if this is called "politics learning" and
"leaders making" then do hell with these practices. Because we, the students of
university of Karachi, want our campus free from these wild violence.
