What is Quarantine??
(Syed Daniyal Hussain, Karachi)
What is Quarantine? People argue; some say it’s the worst form of hell. But some seem to look quarantine as bringing people closer. People have their differences of opinion but they forget to look at the fact what they can attain from the quarantine.
In a world full of chaos and heat; people work like a machine. They wake up, get ready and leave to work. Some of them share goodbyes to their families, while others dream to have their families close as they have been working far away from their families just to feed them. People go to bed thinking they have achieved everything but still feel a part of their soul missing — love completes that part.
If the world has a reset button this might be it. People who have quarantined themselves from the world have the opportunity they do not earn every day. People who had their last meal with their family months or years ago, they sit together on the same table now holding hands blessing the dinner. The kid who never gets to tell his dad about who he wants to be in the future just because his dad was so involved in his work so that he could successfully win the life race but at the cost of pushing his family away.
Have you noticed the old man who waters his beautiful garden every morning while you leave to work? The old man does not recall the last time families had a barbecue in the backyard and parents had fun with their children. Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of people who care about you, in the thrill of a team effort.
The body cannot survive without food, and the soul cannot survive without love. In fact, without love the soul is never born — there is no question of its survival.
Only in love does one come to feel that success is more than getting richer, more than the power over anything.
