Earth is a unique planet of the universe. It is gifted with elements & contents to sustain life. There are raw materials (inorganic substances) like oxygen and water. Nothing comes from outside into the earth except sunlight. But everything is managed to recycle and exist.
No oxygen means, no life. Plants make use of raw substances; water and carbon dioxide including minerals using light energy from the sun to supply our planet (earth) with oxygen. This all process of manufacturing takes place in leaves. As a result of the chemical process food (glucose) and oxygen are produced.
Every living thing including humans survives with oxygen. Our lungs process oxygen and carbon dioxide during breathing. Our spongy lungs are made up of millions of tiny pouch like air boxes. These small microscopic air boxes look like bunches of grapes stuffed in the sacks. These microscopic air boxes are densely supplied with blood that contains iron in a compound called haemoglobin, a protein making red blood cells. Iron is very active for oxygen and traps it as it is inhaled in the lungs’ air boxes. Blood runs around the entire body, supplying cells with oxygen where it burns food (glucose) to provide us with energy needed for all life processes.
Covid-19 is super micro creature that can effectively multiply or reproduce in these air boxes of the lungs. When viruses embed in the lungs they stud their spikes (crown) in the air boxes. Here the virus entertains the best favorable conditions to multiply and explode, thus spread. Viruses exploit the cells’ DNA contents to increase and contaminate the nearby surrounding cells. The lungs’ air boxes are interrupted, irritated and disabled or damaged. As a result the poor affected one suffers suffocation and starts struggling for life.
Had we ever thought about the favors and bounties we have been bestowed with by our Lord?
Covid-19 made us to think and be grateful to our kind Lord for His unlimited blessings like oxygen. We pay no bill; no tax and no price for the continuous supply of oxygen.
Life as a whole is very colorful & attractive. This tiny, invisible but the most formidable enemy of our lives has made it blurred. When Covid-19 occupies our route of life, we have left with no option but to fight. Again we are being gifted with an immune system to protect us from such a life threatening foe. This time the defenders are in our blood. They are called antibodies. These antibodies chase, identify and fight the invaders. But the bloody warriors are camouflaged and are difficult to be recognized. Any way antibodies search, identify and arrest them and saves our lives if successful. Have you contemplated about these miracles ever?
Covid-19 compelled us to contemplate and be thankful to our Lord.
Sometime, I would really become surprised and stood with the finger in my mouth. Before covid-19, I would see the worshippers of the same God (Allah), in the same mosque & with the same creed but with the different ways of performing the same acts/actions of worship. Some would stand too close and congested, should to shoulder and heel to heel. In the same row others would stand with gaps (loosely packed) among them and not joining heels to heels. These worshippers of the same one Lord and in the same religion follow the same book (Quran) and the same prophet (SAW) but had/have divisions. Sectarian divisions based on prejudice and biasness. Covid-19 made us to stand keeping two meters distance between us in the same mosques & in the same rows.
Could we be able to avoid prejudice, narrow mindedness and biasness now?
Even though there are more disadvantages and bad impacts of covid-19 in the entire globe. Economies have crashed, businesses have crippled down, unemployment has topped up and inflation has broken all the records. Schools, colleges, universities, temples, churches & mosques were closed time and again. Day night long lockdowns, ban on movements and gathering have greatly affected lives.
But still some positive changes are also there.
Online business, online education, online skills development programs and all this from home are really a boom in the world of internet. No one could predict such changes before covid-19 but covid-19 did.
Materialistic approach collapse but is retractable and bounce. We need to allow humanity, respect and broad mindedness prevail. There could be odds but tolerance must give way to dissolve such odds. Humanity must overrule & dominate the selfish and greedy approach. Humanity brings peace, harmony and satisfaction.
Covid-19 will surrender but the lesson it gave us might not be forgotten.
