Big B’s future glows vivid

The phenomenon called Amitabh Bachchan never ceases to astonish. Actors who together the Bollywood industry long after he made his unveiling some 42 years ago have previously pale from the public remembrance.

But the creative angry young man of Indian cinema goes on and on. No other actor in living wage memory has had such long innings, outwardly with a nonstop and uninterruptible top billing.

As his latest film, Bhuddha Hoga Terra Baap, impress cinema audiences, Bachchan, clad in a loud floral shirt, zany designer jacket, tight jeans and a shiny pair of Ked, is vigorous marketing it on countless television channels in one-to-one interviews.

The cool-dude look is part of his screen guise in Bhuddha, the fiction of a retired criminal running a pub in Paris who finds himself entwined in dirty business one last time. True to form, he ends up trumps over opposition half his age.

The film, released on July 1, is a box office hit thanks to the pulling power of Bachchan.

Nearing his 69th birthday, Bachchan still commands mega cash for playing the main lead in films. in fact, the reigning Khan heroes - Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh - all in their mid-40s, must be envious of the huge fees Bachchan gets paid. Story-writers constantly write scripts with Bachchan in mind.

Also, he is still energetic enough to defend the old pace of work, coverage punctually on the sets for his shoots and putting in more than 18 hours daily to complete the projects at hand. A stickler, he hardly needs to be told by directors about the best way to describe his screen spirit once he has conventional the script.

In short, the Indians’ love situation with the inimitable Amitabh Bachchan shows no sign of dim. Actors come and go but Big B is forever.
