It's easy to spoil the Floor but it's hard to sweep it out as citizens of Pakistan, we must look after our people, environment, and surrounding, these were the remarks of social activist Mola Baksh Khosa

Mola Baksh Khosa who wants to promote peace by collaborating with several organizations to help his area’s deprived people to overcome poverty without prejudice though he grew up in a small village of district Lasbela, Balochistan. Khosa is doing his utmost to make society more peaceful.

In the district, his activism has gained traction, and many young people have been inspired by his efforts. A few years later, he joined Peace without Borders - Pakistan and began working to promote harmony in Balochistan among people of different religions and faiths. With the PWB-P platform, he has trained over 1,800 young people on the significance of building a peaceful, inclusive society for Pakistan's prosperity.

During his interview, he disclosed that his area has faced several challenges, not just ethnically, but also in terms of resources. He informed that our district is predominantly Muslim (Baloch), while Hindus also make up a small percentage of the population adding that the people of the district consist of different religions, beliefs and skin colors. He said that there is a pre-partition temple where thousands of Hindus from all over Pakistan come to pilgrimage every year adding “It is considered the holiest destination for Hindus”, he added

To a question, he shared that so many times it happened that whenever I talk about facilitating Hindus pilgrimages, people become harsh, I always motivate them to be calm and tell them that every religion has the right to freely perform its acts of worship. “As a social worker or peace seeker wants to spread love and peace adding that our world needs love and respect”, Khosa urged

“Humans must always do good for others if they wish to live in peace", he believes, saying that as a member of our community, I always encourage tolerance, harmony, and peace. People assume I am talking about the war when I refer to peace; I was not. The pursuit of peace and religious harmony are always my top priorities.” Fame, wealth, and power are not the only ways to succeed in life. It takes more than money and fame to lead a happy and successful life. Happiness is the key to success. In every situation, successful people remain happy and at peace with themselves and maintain a high level of internal satisfaction.

He said that despite being the city union, Khosa Goth, Kun, Bela City is deprived of a proper primary school adding that the present school building was constructed about 40 years ago in the northern side of the village and now it is about to fall apart. “Village children are studying at the school under only two teachers, the weather conditions are not suitable for the students to be sitting outside but there is no other way hence the students have to face harsh temperatures”, he informed. During summers, the scorching sun and heat waves make it hard for the students to even attend classes whereas, in the freezing cold of winter, the students sit outside with shivering hands. To a question he replied that the moment when I started working, someone phoned me and he said that if you continue working, you’ll be in danger. I was completely astonished and then I tried my best to walk on the path I wanted. People with backwardness did not want to continue, I was afraid but strong passion led me to do something to mold the society. It was a difficult time but not impossible.

“In the 21st century where people around the world are planning to walk on other planets, our people are merely demanding for a school building and other basic facilities for a school which they are yet not getting”, he said

He said after seeing all these situations, I took the initiative to start giving free tuition classes to children and let them know that education is the only hope that can bring a difference in the village. “If the government is not ready to work on necessities, educated people have the responsibility to take initiative. He said that people from less-privileged areas have gone a long way and done unexpected miracles; this is what I say to the students that nothing should hinder them from success.

A resident of his area told that Khosa’s initiative has helped many children to continue their education and dreams despite challenges adding that though so many times he has threatened but he did not stop doing good deeds.

Despite all challenges, Khosa is working hard to build such a community and culture where people of all backgrounds can work and live together in harmony and with peace.
