“LET’S MAKE SUMMER VACATIONS MORE PRODUCTIVE”
Summer Vacations are the best time in which children get a break from the busy academic schedule and it is the right time to learn any skill and adopt new hobbies. But it has come to our notice that as soon as the holidays begin, the children immediately begin to feel bored. Let's see some ways in which children will not only enjoy vacations but also spend them constructively.

MAKE A SCHEDULE:
Make a written schedule for children and stick it on the wall. This schedule includes the time from waking up to going to bed. Activities for children should be different in the schedule so that they do not get bored. This activity will make the children disciplined and punctual and they will learn about time management.

LEARN ACADEMIC SKILLS:
If we talk about children aged 8 to 12 years, it is high time to engage them to learn some useful skills. If the child has an interest in computer science try to learn to code, or you can also make them learn different programming languages. Computer programming gives kids a challenge and helps them develop resilience towards adversity. Through coding children learn the ability to try and try again until they become successful. One thing to keep in mind is that the only people who will be successful in the future are those who use their time to learn useful skills like coding at an early age.

LEARN ARTISTIC SKILLS:
Research shows that art activities develop brain capacity in early childhood. It also helps to see things from a different perspective and makes a child an excellent observer. You can introduce the art of pottery, painting, making sketches, learning dances or learning any musical instrument etc. Through these artistic activities, children also learn problem-solving abilities and at the same time make them more creative.

ALLOW SOME SCREEN TIME:
In today's era, you can’t resist children watching television or spending time on mobile phones. But you can make this screen time productive. Allow children to watch only educational videos. Avoid making them very fond of computer games and online games as these games do not impart any knowledge or creativity to the child. According to UNICEF, the effects of digital technology on children's psychology could be good for children’s mental well-being, but too much exposure to the screen had a negative impact.

WORK ON READING, WRITING AND LISTENING SKILLS:
As far as concerned with these skills, remember to put their practices in the schedule. A time should be fixed for reading and writing daily. In this regard, the parent has to dictate one page to the young child daily or allow the child to sit in the garden and ask him or her to write about the natural scenery he or she has. Ask the child to maintain a daily diary. All these methods will improve your child’s writing skills. No hobby can be better than reading a book so maintain a habit of reading in your child from the early years. Mothers should tell informative and Islamic stories to their children when it is time for them to go to bed. Then ask questions in between in this way their listening ability will be enhanced. Learning these skills will work until adolescence.

PLAN A FUN-FILLED PICNIC:
Instead of going to the beaches every time, visit museums and historical places. Telling kids about history, I’m sure kids will get damn interest in history. You can also visit the different cultural festivals, in this way children will learn about their country’s respective culture. Also, they learn to uphold their traditions and maintain discipline with families and communities.

TO SUM UP:
Summer vacations are the best time for kids to take a break from busy educational schedules and this is the perfect time to learn any skill and take up new hobbies. If you ask your child to learn one different skill every year you can’t imagine how many skills your child will learn until adolescence. Don’t waste this precious time on video games, or watching television unnecessarily. Try to explore new things with the child and allow reasonable risk. Get them enrolled in any course of their interest like Robotics, Microbit, Scratch, Artificial intelligence or Mind Math etc. It will surely help your kids in future.
