Isn’t it interesting and
heart-melting to see your closest one grow into a successful independent
individual despite the fact that he has to struggle with ADHD? He is insightful
about his own strength and limitations, creatively and bravely designing new
ways of thinking and doing to make real, positive changes. According to him:
BEING NORMAL IS OVERRATED, YOU SHOULD HAVE SOMETHING UNIQUE.
And this is how he makes it through and is a high achiever on those things we
consider adult outcomes of success.
But, how this can be?? Is actually a mysterious paradox?
ADHD makes it harder to direct one’s intentions, actions and thoughts and it
gets harder to act what you know, making life outcomes less rosy. AHDH is more
than feeling bored at a meeting, dropping your keys, or locating yourself,
checking your Twitter feed today whilst you ought to be working. ADHD can look
like those things but when you decide to add up a lifetime of ADHD challenges,
you may get mired in terrible effects which are quite awful.
So, how could it be possible that not one more than that people with ADHD are
such high achievers?
HIGH ACHIEVERS WITH ADHD HAVE UNIQUE TALENTS AND INTERESTS:
Thinking of my friend for a while, he argues legal cases of international
importance which I cannot legally name or understand. He is one of them there
are several other examples of such talents and interests and they have built
their life work around it.
Research shows that being really smart may actually mask the symptoms of ADHD (Milioni,
2017). Highly shrewd kids and adults with ADHD were proven to rely upon greater
efficient elements of the mind to make up for the weaker effective functioning
related to ADHD. So, human beings with excessive IQs have a tendency to carry
out higher in faculty and in existence in spite of their ADHD.
When I jumped into thoughts of being a high achiever with ADHD I realized that
part of their experience is to exist in the paradox.
