It is a human tendency that one gives sacrifice for only those that he loves. It means that we give sacrifice only for the things that we consider more valuable and more important than what we are sacrificing. a Father would willingly work extra hard to ensure that the food is available on the table for his family, A mother would be willing to stay awake the whole night to look after her sick children
People, generally, do not take pain of put themselves in hardships for strangers. In the same manner, the people who loves Islam, give some special sacrifices for Islam. They sacrifice their time, wealth, energy, sweat, carrier and blood for Islam ,

Why Imam Hussain sacrificed his life , for what purpose ?

The Imam Hussain felt that the existing governemnt is not running according to principles of Islam, Yazeed by tongue was saying I am khalifah of Allah but by actions he were beyond the boundries of Allah , the laws were just for common peoples, not for existing governemnt, Yazeed being nominated as the successor and then becoming the actual ruler was the change in the constitution, peoples were not given basic rights , right of freedom of speech , right to choose the Khalifah, because of these and many more changes in governement Imam hussain stood against Yazeed's government the purpose was the goverment should run according to principles of Islam
