Distance

A teacher asked his students: "Why do we yell when we are angry? Why do people raise their voices and shout at each other when they are upset?"
The students thought for a moment, and one of them said, "Because we lose our calmness and composure at that moment."
The teacher asked, "While it is true that we lose our calm, why do we yell when the other person is right next to us? Can't we speak in a soft voice? Why do we shout when we are angry?"
The students gave various answers, but none of them satisfied the teacher.
Finally, he explained: "When two people are angry with each other, their hearts move away from one another."
"They need to shout to bridge that distance. The more anger and frustration
there is, the greater the distance, and they must raise their voices even
louder."
