The International Rescue Challenge

The International Rescue Challenge (IRC-2024) at the purpose-built Emergency Services Academy (ESA) was held in the historic city of Lahore. This event was followed by the Asia Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise till 26t October as Pakistan holds the INSARAG Asia Pacific Regional Chair for 2024.
The IRC-2024 includes competition of Height Rescue, Deep Well Rescue, Confined Space Extrication, Trauma Management and Fitness Challenge aimed to enhance professional competencies of Rescue Teams to cope with diverse nature of emergencies & disasters. This Challenge also provide opportunity to share diverse experience, improve coordination, sharing of knowledge &international best practices of Emergency Services.
Pakistan Rescue Team (PRT) also organized the INSARAG Asia Pacific Earthquake Response Exercise (APERE-2024) from 23rd to 26t October 2024 in Lahore. Pakistan has diverse experience of responding to earthquakes and floods due to its diverse topography including mountain ranges of Himalayan, Hindu-Kush & Karakoram with majestic peaks like K2, deserts & rivers and Arabian Sea with overall population of over 242 million. Representatives from Zalmi Foundation Pakistan were also present, underscoring their commitment to supporting such initiatives that contribute to disaster preparedness and emergency response.
This APERE-2024 is a large-scale table top simulation exercise which2will be attended by international USAR Teams, Emergency Medical Teams(EMTs),UNDAC members, NGOs, INGOs, UN Agencies/ Humanitarian Country Team(HCT)as well as national & regional agencies and other international response organizations.
In order to support Pakistan Emergency Services Department (ESD) and Rescue to participate in the competition, Zhejiang GBI Intelligent Equipment INC commissioned Beijing Peaceland Foundation China to donate a state-of-the-art lighting drone, model G5+, to Pakistan Emergency and Rescue (ESD), specifically designed to enhance the capabilities of search and rescue teams.
This cutting-edge technology, courtesy of Chinese organizations, will significantly augment Emergency Services Department response efforts in emergencies. The G5+ lighting drone's advanced features, including enhanced illumination will facilitate, will help
