Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was a
great political writer and poet. He spent most of his life in politics and
worked for the betterment of Muslims of sub-continent. Born in 1873 in Sialkot,
he acquired his preliminary education from Mission High School, Wazir Abad and
got his bachelors degree from Ali Garh.

He was famous for his political and
religious services in sub-continent. The popular collections of his poems are “Baharistan”,
“Nigaristan”, and “Chamanistan”. Other books which he wrote are “Muashiat”, “Khiaban-e-Faras”,
“Lataif-ul-Adab”, “Ghalba-e-Room”, “Jang-e-Roos Japan” etc. Poem writing was his
blessed characteristic. During the last years of his life, he worked sternly for
the independence of Pakistan.

During those days, he continued “Daily Zimindar”
from Lahore which was founded by his father “Moulvi Siraj-ud-Din”. He died in
1952 and he was buried in Karam Abad (Wazir Abad). |
