Education: What?
(Daim Ali Shaikh, Karachi)
I asked this same question to a
lot of people, a kind of test actually to understand there personalities. but
instead of that I understood one HUGE problem that is with our society: We Can't
Understand the true difference between Education and Information. You see
Education is the thing that we are Taught in Universities, Colleges, and - as in
my case - High Schools. but Information is the research that we do on that
Education which, unlike most people's views, includes even checking a word from
a dictionary or watching the news on the news because it ads to your knowledge
on that specific subject. and according to me the latter is a bit more important
in your future life in the modern era. I deduced that from an incident with a
relative of mine who works in a telecom company and in her interview she was
asked a lot of stuff that they don't teach you ANYWHERE in schools but you infer
from common, everyday observations for example she was told to write an essay on
Gwadar and her views on the 9/11 accident. Now I ask you to tell me WHAT school
in WHICH country teaches you that stuff. Fortunately for her she knew a little
and passed but I can't say the same for the current generation.
So my point is that try to understand the phenomenon taught to you in schools so
you'll do better in the future.
