SYRIAN FORCES’ CRUELTY

(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)

Since I have seen the pictures of innocent children brutally slaughtered and killed by Syrian forces, I am unable to close my eyes for seconds. Syrian forces who are fighting sectarian battle against their people are brutally killing innocent people including men, women and children because the president of Syria, Bashar-al-Assad, does not like the Sunnis as he is from Shia sect whereas his forces are also adhered to the same sect.

As Arab Spring is engulfing various countries and rebellion against the president is also arising day by day hence, he chose the way to kill people in order to quell uprising which could cede him from his governance or rule.

It is a great misfortune how easily the forces killed kids who were sleeping and playing with their toys, even they were unaware of uprising or any sectarian matters. Is it humanity? The Syrian president and his forces treated the men, women and children worse than any animals whereas the president ignorantly leveled allegations against the movements working to arouse people’s sentiments against the president’s rule.

The question arises why so-called champions of democracy and human rights are silent on this issue? Why don’t they step forward to hold the Syrian president and his forces or stem them to do so? Hundreds of Innocent people are daily being massacred by the pro-president of Syria just because they belong to another sect, why? I believe both the Sunnis and the Shias believe in one Allah and believe in Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as the last prophet of Allah Almighty, so why not can they survive their lives under interfaith harmony?

I strongly condemn the killing incidents of innocent people by the president of Syria and his forces and appeal all human rights organizations and other countries to please raise their voice for the lives of innocent people in Syria whose lives and properties are under threat by their own president and forces. Save their lives and prove that you are working surely for human rights!
