(Tehzeeb Arif, Lahore)

Every year women's day is celebrated on 8th of March throughout the world. Lots of promises to uplift her standard in the society are made, numerous TV programs are run and verbose speeches are delivered in expensive halls but are they helping to improve the status of women is a big question Mark???

Women are sold even today in a good bargain of a cow, money or land. They are shunned to get education or if some women get lucky to have this prestige they are denied the opportunity of jobs. Its not that in our country jobs are not given to women rather the attitude of their family and society is so discouraging that prohibits them going out and doing jobs. Even most of the educated girls are not given the chance to choose the man of their life. They are expected to marry whatever man their family pin points, no matter how big contrast of opinion the girl has. Those women who opt for divorce out of any fair reason are never given the full respect due to which not only she but her children also have to suffer. Moreover Mother's opinion is still considered secondary and sister's activities are always a question of concern.

Woman is the most beautiful creature of God. She is an embodiment of love, care and hope. What a woman wants is not difficult to know. It is simply a combination of Love, Respect and Honor. She needs love at the younger age and this nurture her into the most amiable person in the world, her talents flourish and she develops into a confident young woman. Then she requires respect. Respect as a mother, being a daughter and most of all as a wife. This pearl of respect turns her into a wise woman and helps her make some of the sagacious decisions about herself and her family. After that she deserves Honor and this recognition makes her most satisfied and successful woman.

Every woman desires to live a happy life but she is the most astounding creature made by God as her happiness is hidden in the happiness of her loved ones. Give a woman Love, Respect and Honor and she will make you the luckiest and happiest man in the world.
