Let's Talk about Solutions

(Dr Ch Abrar Majid, Kuthiala Sheikhan)

The current situation in our country is really very regretful and full nation is mourning. Media, civil society and public is condemning the situation. Indignation and anger is the right of the victim families and I appreciate their demonstrative peaceful strike with dead bodies. It’s really end of patience that they despite of stake of rage expressing. The whole nation condolences but the time is to actively participate to combat the terrorism. No doubt, government is responsible to rule of law but now they seem to fail in delivering the services. This not time to just criticise and blame others but to actively participate in operation against terrorism. Now terrorism is like challenge for us and we all have to fight this war to save our country.

This is also one type of deceit that we are being engaged in discussions and quarrels like sect conflicts. I don’t think any true Muslim can think to kill any other Muslim. The holy Quran says: “If anyone murders an innocent person … it will be as if he had murdered the whole of humanity”. Whoever is doing this is at least no true Muslim but I would say he is betrayer and must be dealt with irony hands.

International Human Rights law, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 18 and our constitution of Pakistan give full protection to everybody his right to freedom of thoughts and religion. Its obligator to government to respect, protect and fulfil these rights. We all also have responsibility to respect the others thoughts and religions.

Human and religions have very strong relation. Human is the best creation of God and religions are the code of life for human being. Religions are for human rather human for religion. Religions are for betterment and success of human being. All religions teach peace and not a single religion permit atrocity, terrorism and discrimination. Religions develop human being and make them model for others. Religions teach unity, equality, brotherhood, love, respect to others, responsibilities and restrain from activities those are harmful for humanity. Religions don’t compel someone to follow them but if someone choose to adopt than make the life uniformed and disciplined.

We have become selfish and materialistic and use religions as tool to get our benefits and always prefer our individual benefits over collective and national that is entirely opposite the religious thoughts. We interpret our religions according to our own benefits. We need to change our mind set and perspectives of thinking.

Let’s talk on solutions rather to criticise the others:
• First of all come out of layers like, religious sects, provincial, language, culture, tribe biases. These all are our identifications not matter of priority or inferiority. We are all human and then Pakistani.
• Secondly try to keep the population of cities under control and those have facilities to shift to rural areas should prefer to live peaceful life. If we observe rural areas are more calm-full and are not target of terrorists.
• Try to keep eye on your surroundings in cities and promote the social cohesion and interaction in society. Remove the distances and live like family.
• Everybody must be attentive and keep with him the emergency contacts like police, fire brigade, ambulance service, rescue teams etc
• We should arrange community sessions to prepare people and get together to discuss our issues and solutions and change the mind set of people so they prefer their collective benefits over individuals.
• We should make groups in our societies and get more benefits of information technology and have the administrative authorities also on board to make the systems rum more smoothly and effectively.
There are many other steps we may take. I keep it open for further discussion and additions of your valuable thoughts. Please take part in this discussion more and more and storm your brains for solutions not to just criticise. Thank you for your patience.
