Neglecting Urdu.

(Huzaifa Shah, Karachi)

Urdu is a language which came out with combination of different cultures. In Saudi Arabia it was delightful when pure Arabic was spoken very nice Urdu. Absolutely it is a symbol of their devotion towards Urdu and South-Asia.

But it is painful when new generation is ignorant from this amazing language. In spite of, the fact, that Urdu is National Language of Pakistan it has not attains its desired place.

The emphasis on English over Urdu and dominancy of English culture snatched the importance of Urdu from literature and conversation.

In this era, the competency of any person is judged by the speed of his fluency in English. Due to this worst trend, youth is feeling out-dated if they are speaking in Urdu.

In our day to day life, we often speak those words which we don’t know the exact meaning of that word in Urdu. It is the height of neglecting our national language.

Urdu is fast losing its significance. It’s a time for steady action to rehabilitate our National asset. In this regard, the role of our teachers, poets, literature and media is very important. Media should promote content which is capable of enhancing importance of Urdu. They should shed light on Universal identity of Urdu.

I think this is the best way to reborn our language.
