As a girl born and raised in
the Asia, I was brought up with an idea of what life would look like. After
hundreds of hours spent on playing “bride and groom” and watching Cinderella
over and over again, it was in the books that I’d grow up to get married and
have kids. When, who, where, it didn’t matter; all that mattered was me in a
BRIDAL OUTFIT and my very own “happily ever after”. Like there was no other
option; like there was no such thing as breakups and divorces. As if life ended
after commitment or marriage.
What is it with Eastern culture and raising children to think that their
happiness would only come from marriage? What happened to graduation, first
jobs, promotions, new cars, and a new pair of Gucci? Of course being married is
a nice thing and all but is it the only “happy” you’ll ever experience? Is your
wedding day the only “happy” day you’ll ever witness? What if my “happily ever
after” hasn’t you marriage dream but to rule the world? Am I doomed for life now
that I am not married yet? C’mon, answer me!!!
“When it comes to finishing college, roughly 20.1 million women have bachelor’s
degrees, compared to nearly 18.7 million men — a gap of more than 1.4 million
that has remained steady in recent years.” We have seen women Benazir Bhutto,
Sonia Gandhi who have ruled a country like Pakistan, India we have fighter
pilots like Ayesha Farooq, Marissa Mayer CEO at yahoo. In this life we live
today we make our own happily ever after; we celebrate and rejoice what we see
fit and what makes us happy. A woman of today is not Cinderella anymore.
Empower Women they are not JUST wife daughters or daughter in law they are much
more than that, n in today's world who so ever says that there is no career for
a women this is the time to **SLAP** them all together because a "WOMEN" can
rule the world, be a CEO, can be a DESIGNER/ ARCHITECT, JOURNALIST, POLITICIAN,
ENGINEER, DOCTOR & anything what they want to be...
