A mother is the truest friend
we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the
place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us
when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her
kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace
to return to our hearts. -- Washington Irving (1783-1859).
Author Stephen Levin asks the question, “If you had an hour to live and could
only make one phone call – who would you call, what would you say, and why are
you waiting?’ What a powerful message!
Who knows what we are waiting for? Perhaps we want to believe we will live
forever, or that “someday” we will get around to telling the people we love how
much we love them. Whatever the reasons, most of us simply wait too long.
So on this Mother’s Day express your love in whatever way you can to that
personality from where love begins and ends, who always has been showering upon
you her unconditional love and who always has been there for you……… she is
nobody else but your very own mom.
When she first held you in her arms, she fell madly in love with you! She is the
one that changed your diaper, gave you your bottle, bathed and dressed you. She
is the one who tended to you when you were sick, wishes she could have bore your
pain, but unable to even share it with you. There is none like a Mother.
Mothers are everything for us when we are small...our lives revolve around her.
For everything that we need we call mother. To protect us from all perceivable
dangers we want her around us. To take us out we hold her arms. To kiss away our
wounds we run to her. And for a warm hug and love we look for her. Mothers are
the ones who would forever complain that we are not eating enough or not eating
right. They would cook all sorts of things so that we be strong and healthy.
Mothers infact, worry more for our examinations than we ourselves do. She is the
focal point of our lives, the greatest human being in the world or should we say
divinity on earth.
Often, motherhood is a tough job, with unruly children, and many heartaches
before they are grown. Sometimes a Mother is lucky that she has well-disciplined
children, but only because she has done her best in order for them to be
well-adjusted teenagers and later adults. Mostly, Mother sits and worries that
she hasn't done her best with her children, especially if they don't turn out as
she thought they should, with all the training she had given them.
Mother is a human being, capable of making mistakes. She is not perfect, just as
none of us are perfect. But she is the one that we picture as being perfect
during our childhood. The thing that sets her apart is her everlasting love for
her children and her intent that they lead normal, well-adjusted lives. Mother
was always there to encourage you when you made a mistake.
Mothers are special. Try to make not only this day but every day for her life
the most wonderful day of her life! Show her you care by telling her you love
her. You will never know how much this helps Mother to realize her family still
cares. Sometimes we get busy doing the usual things in life, and lose sight of
the most important aspects - loving our family. And Mother happens to be where
that 'family' began. Without Mother, there would never have been a family.
On the eve of this mother’s day I want to say something to my mom,
“ I love you…… it doesn’t seem like enough for someone who has always been there
to celebrate with me, to rejoice with me and to hold my hand when my whole world
seems to be falling apart. Thank you very much for always being there for me! I
really apologize from the bottom of my heart for all the troubles I gave to you.
Mom you are my life, you are my heart. You are the best mom in the world.
“The woman who creates and sustains a home and under whose hands children grow
up to be strong and pure men and women, is a creator second only to God.” —Helen
Hunt Jackson.
