How to eliminate Depression from your life?

Depression is a mental illness which is quite common among the masses nowadays. People tend to take depression lightly and this results in fatal disorders later in life, such as heart diseases. Here are some tips on how to diminish depression from the surface of your life:

Change your atmosphere:
It is hard dealing with loss, rejection which usually cause depression and in order to eliminate it, surroundings matter more then we think. Go to your favorite country side, the beach or any soothing, calm place, which your prefer. By changing your surroundings you will feel better and more alive.

Surround yourself with positivity:
You need a change, after setbacks in life we need change for the better. Make good, positive friends who support you and block all negativity from your life. Deleting or blocking negative forums and people on social media can uplift your mood. If you don’t have family and friends so why not volunteer at an NGO or a shelter house? By witnessing the experience of helping the less fortunate you will feel hopeful about your purpose in life.

Be Grateful:
Don’t observe people who are far better off than you, look and ponder upon the poor and needy. Realize your blessings and the feeling of gratitude will instantly make you feel better. You would feel as if your problems are pea-sized compared to the struggles of the poor. This will help you in healing as your core of depression won’t be a big deal anymore.

Change your lifestyle:
Change, change and change everything! In the process of healing you need to let go of things which remind you or increase your depression. Change your curtains, sofa covers, wall paper, hair color etc. You can even change your routine by trying something new to eat such as why not try oat meal for breakfast this time? You can even change your wardrobe and the way you look. These small gestures of change can repair your mental state.

Work on yourself:
Your body is your entity and you should take care of yourself by exercising, treating your skin, doing yoga, eating well and clean and by pampering your body and hair. Instead of crying and moping around the house, during depression, you can go for an early jog in the morning, get a facial, play sports or start baking. The main aim is for you to treat yourself.

Focus on your achievements:
When you’re low one probably reminisces on his/ her past mistakes and that’s not healthy. You should keep reminding yourself of your achievements from time to time. You need to feel good about yourself which means a positive thinking is required for curing depression.

Start anew:
Your past, your loss and your suffering are gone and you cannot fix them. So now you need to reflect your present and realize your depression is illusion, your problems are further exaggerated by your mind and you need to control them, tell yourself that. Start writing your goals on a piece of paper to get you a clear outlook and start aiming for something, to keep you busy. Don’t sit idle and if you’re free so read a book, cook, volunteer and help the needy, learn an instrument, find a new passion or hobby and just surround yourself with optimistic individuals.
