Economization
(Syed Manazirul Haq, Karachi)
Economization implies to expend
with reasoning and calculation viz in other words to make equilibrium in income
and expenditure is known as economization. It does not mean tightfistedness and
selfishness but to avoid expending lavishly and blindly on unnecessary gears is
known as economy.
Extravagance deteriorates human beings. An extravagant person always remains in
troubles and anxiety also depressed under loans. In our society such class of
people is existed who expend blindly for sake of their ego, name and famous
whether it may lead them to heavy loans. People in marriage ceremony blindly
expend on Mehndhy, Mayoon, Chothy etc. for the sake of uplifting their ego as
they consider that if they do not serve the guests lavishly they would be
ashamed before their relatives and neighbours. There is no principle of
extravagant person. His purpose is only to display his name and figure and to
take appreciations by way of pomp and show either for this purpose he has to get
money from anywhere or from any means. The imprudence at his part fells him by
way of troubles, issues and hardships and in some circumstances his heirs become
old by paying on his debts.
Contrary to this an economized and contented person always leads a relief, sound
and trouble-free life. He does not stretch his wishes and expends within the
boundaries also he is not willing to be slave of his lusts. Therefore he does
not face hard difficulties because by way of economy he saves some money which
helps him in rainy days and for the fulfillment of his demands he has not to
take loans from anywhere nor he has to bow before some person because
indebtedness makes men shameless and they frequently stretch their hands.
The economy depends upon income and resources accordingly whether it is domestic
or national or individual demands for equilibrium in income and expenditure by
way of opportunity and priority approach. If a person avoids or refrains from
squandering and extravagance and follows moderation in consuming income and
resources he not only keeps himself off from all kind of worries and hardships
but also remains contented and prosperous.
Our religion also teaches us to observe moderation and temperateness in all
walks of life and forbids expending lavishly and blindly.
