Hazrat Khalid Bin Waleed R.A.

(Asim, Karachi)

Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid R.A. played a vital role in many battles fought for the sack of islam, The most remarkable and famous we will discuss here to enlight the courage and revalary of our great commandar.

The Battle of Yarmouk was a major battle between the army of the Byzantine Empire and the Muslim Arab forces of the Rashidun Caliphate. The battle consisted of a series of engagements that lasted for six days in August 636, near the Yarmouk River, along what today are the borders of Syria–Jordan and Syria–Israel, east of the Sea of Galilee. The result of the battle was a complete Muslim victory which ended Byzantine rule in Syria. The Battle of Yarmouk is regarded as one of the most decisive battles in military history, and it marked the first great wave of early Muslim conquests after the death of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.W, heralding the rapid advance of Islam into the then Christian Levant.

In order to check the Arab advance and to recover lost territory, Emperor Heraclius had sent a massive expedition to the Levant in May 636. As the Byzantine army approached, the Arabs tactically withdrew from Syria and regrouped all their forces at the Yarmouk plains close to the Arabian Peninsula, where, after being reinforced, they defeated the numerically superior Byzantine army. The battle is considered to be one of Hazrat Khalid ibn al-Walid's R.A. greatest military victories. It cemented his reputation as one of the greatest tacticians and cavalry commanders in history.

Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid's R.A. letter to persian governor:

“Submit to Islam and be safe. Or agree to the payment of the Jizya, and you and your people will be under our protection, or else you will have only yourself to blame for the consequences, for I bring the men who desire death as ardently as you desire your life.”

Quotes of Hazrat Khalid Bin Walid R.A:

“Do you see a space of the span of a hand on my leg, chest, arm which is not covered by some scar of the wound of a sword or an arrow or a lance?” Said this to one of his friends a few days before he died.

“If you were in the clouds, Allah would raise us to you or lower you to us for battle.” Said this to the Byzantine troops when they retreated from the battle field to the fortified town of Chalcis.

“I love the rainy night when I am standing wearing armor with a sword and shield in my hand and looking towards the eastern horizon, waiting for sun to rise so that I can start the battle.”

At the end we pray for our Leaders today who are sitting in public offices to get lesson from our past leaders who never bow before anyone except Almighty Allah and success was with them.
