وَ لَیْسَتِ التَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِیْنَ یَعْمَلُوْنَ السَّیِّاٰتِۚ-حَتّٰۤى اِذَا حَضَرَ اَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ اِنِّیْ تُبْتُ الْــٴٰـنَ وَ لَا الَّذِیْنَ یَمُوْتُوْنَ وَ هُمْ كُفَّارٌؕ-اُولٰٓىٕكَ اَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا اَلِیْمًا ﴿۱۸﴾

اور وہ توبہ ان کی نہیں جو گناہوں میں لگے رہتے ہیں، (ف۴۷) یہاں تک کہ جب ان میں کسی کو موت آئے تو کہے اب م یں نے توبہ کی (ف۴۸) اور نہ ان کی جو کافر مریں ان کے لئے ہم نے دردناک عذاب تیار رکھا ہے (ف۴۹) ﴿۱۸﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) اور ایسے لوگوں کی توبہ قبول نہیں ہوتی جو (ساری عمر) برے کام کرتے ہیں۔ یہاں تک کہ جب ان میں سے کسی موت آموجود ہو تو اس وقت کہنے لگے کہ اب میں توبہ کرتا ہوں اور نہ ان کی (توبہ قبول ہوتی ہے) جو کفر کی حالت میں مریں۔ ایسے لوگوں کے لئے ہم نے عذاب الیم تیار کر رکھا ہے ﴿۱۸﴾

The forgiveness is not for those who do ill-deeds until, when death attendeth upon one of them, he saith: Lo! I repent now; nor yet for those who die while they are disbelievers. For such We have prepared a painful doom. ﴾18﴿
