حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا حَتَّى يُقْضَى دَفْنُهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ أَصْغَرُهُمَا مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ . فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلَهَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ صَدَقَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ فَرَّطْنَا فِي قَرَارِيطَ كَثِيرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَاب:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَثَوْبَانَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے کوئی نماز جنازہ پڑھی، اس کے لیے ایک قیراط ثواب ہے۔ اور جو اس کے ساتھ رہے یہاں تک کہ اس کی تدفین مکمل کر لی جائے تو اس کے لیے دو قیراط ثواب ہے، ان میں سے ایک قیراط یا ان میں سے چھوٹا قیراط احد کے برابر ہو گا“۔ تو میں نے ابن عمر سے اس کا ذکر کیا تو انہوں نے مجھے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کے پاس بھیجا اور ان سے اس بارے میں پوچھوایا تو انہوں نے کہا: ابوہریرہ سچ کہتے ہیں۔ تو ابن عمر نے کہا: ہم نے بہت سے قیراط گنوا دیئے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوہریرہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- ان سے کئی سندوں سے یہ مروی ہے، ۳- اس باب میں براء، عبداللہ بن مغفل، عبداللہ بن مسعود، ابو سعید خدری، ابی بن کعب، ابن عمر اور ثوبان رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever performs the funeral prayer then he will get a reward equal to a Qirat. Whoever follows it until it is buried then he will get a reward equal to two Qirat, one of them, or the least of them, is similar to Uhud (mountain). This was mentioned to Ibn Umar, so he sent a message to Aishah to ask her about that, and she said: Abu Hurairah has told the truth. So Ibn Umar said: We have missed many Qirat.
