Umm Salamah narrated: Umm Sulaim bint Milhan came to the Prophet and she said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Indeed Allah is not embarrassed of the truth. So is it required of a woman - meaning Ghusl - when she sees in her sleep similar to what a man sees?' He replied: 'Yes. When she finds water (wetness), then she is perform Ghusl.' Umm Salamah said: I said to her: 'O Umm SuIaim! You have disgraced the women!'

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَهَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ تَعْنِي غُسْلًا إِذَا هِيَ رَأَتْ فِي الْمَنَامِ مِثْلَ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ إِذَا هِيَ رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لَهَا:‏‏‏‏ فَضَحْتِ النِّسَاءَ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ عَامَّةِ الْفُقَهَاءِ أَنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ إِذَا رَأَتْ فِي الْمَنَامِ مِثْلَ مَا يَرَى الرَّجُلُ فَأَنْزَلَتْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهَا الْغُسْلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِهِ يَقُولُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ وَالشَّافِعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَوْلَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ.

ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   ام سلیم بنت ملحان نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں اور کہنے لگیں: اللہ کے رسول! اللہ حق سے نہیں شرماتا ۱؎ کیا عورت پر بھی غسل ہے، جب وہ خواب میں وہی چیز دیکھے جو مرد دیکھتا ہے ۲؎ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں، جب وہ منی دیکھے تو غسل کرے“ ۳؎ ام سلمہ کہتی ہیں: میں نے ام سلیم سے کہا: ام سلیم! آپ نے تو عورتوں کو رسوا کر دیا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- بیشتر فقہاء کا قول ہے کہ عورت جب خواب میں وہی چیز دیکھے جو مرد دیکھتا ہے پھر اسے انزال ہو جائے ( یعنی منی نکل جائے ) تو اس پر غسل واجب ہے، یہی سفیان ثوری اور شافعی بھی کہتے ہیں، ۳- اس باب میں ام سلیم، خولہ، عائشہ اور انس رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔
