Abdullah bin Mughaffal narrated that : the Prophet said: Between every two calls (to prayer) there is a Salat for whoever wills.

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ كَهْمَسِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ لِمَنْ شَاءَ . وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يَرَ بَعْضُهُمُ الصَّلَاةَ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ أَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ صَلَّاهُمَا فَحَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا عِنْدَهُمَا عَلَى الِاسْتِحْبَابِ.

عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو نفلی نماز پڑھنا چاہے اس کے لیے ہر دو اذان ۱؎ کے درمیان نماز ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی الله عنہما سے بھی روایت ہے، ۳- صحابہ کرام کے درمیان مغرب سے پہلے کی نماز کے سلسلہ میں اختلاف پایا جاتا ہے، ان میں سے بعض کے نزدیک مغرب سے پہلے نماز نہیں، اور صحابہ میں سے کئی لوگوں سے مروی ہے کہ وہ لوگ مغرب سے پہلے اذان اور اقامت کے درمیان دو رکعتیں پڑھتے تھے، ۴- احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر کوئی انہیں پڑھے تو بہتر ہے، اور یہ ان دونوں کے نزدیک مستحب ہے۔
