Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Prophet said: Whoever catches a Rak'ah of Subh before the sun has risen, then he has caught Subh. Whoever catches a Rak'ah of Asr before the sun has set, then he has caught Asr.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، وعَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ يُحَدِّثُونَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الصُّبْحِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصُّبْحَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْعَصْرَ . وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَائِشَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِهِ يَقُولُ أَصْحَابُنَا وَالشَّافِعِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عِنْدَهُمْ لِصَاحِبِ الْعُذْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مِثْلُ الرَّجُلِ الَّذِي يَنَامُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ أَوْ يَنْسَاهَا فَيَسْتَيْقِظُ وَيَذْكُرُ عِنْدَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَعِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس نے سورج نکلنے سے پہلے فجر کی ایک رکعت پالی تو اس نے فجر پالی، اور جس نے سورج ڈوبنے سے پہلے عصر کی ایک رکعت پالی تو اس نے عصر پالی“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ رضی الله عنہا سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- ہمارے اصحاب، شافعی، احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ بھی یہی کہتے ہیں، یہ حدیث ان کے نزدیک صاحب عذر کے لیے ہے مثلاً ایسے شخص کے لیے جو نماز سے سو گیا اور سورج نکلنے یا ڈوبنے کے وقت بیدار ہوا ہو یا اسے بھول گیا ہو اور وہ سورج نکلنے یا ڈوبنے کے وقت اسے نماز یاد آئی ہو۔
