Anas narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Al-Fuhsh is not present in anything but it mars it, and Al-Haya' is not present in anything but it beautifies it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كَانَ الْفُحْشُ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا شَانَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا كَانَ الْحَيَاءُ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا زَانَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ.

انس رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جس چیز میں بھی بےحیائی آتی ہے اسے عیب دار کر دیتی ہے اور جس چیز میں حیاء آتی ہے اسے زینت بخشتی ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف عبدالرزاق کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ رضی الله عنہا سے بھی روایت ہے۔
