Abdullah (Ibn Masud) narrated that : the Prophet said: Let those among you with understanding and reason be close to me, then those after them, then those after them. And do not separate or dissention will occur among your hearts, and beware of the commotion of the markets.

حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لِيَلِيَنِّي مِنْكُمْ أُولُو الْأَحْلَامِ وَالنُّهَى ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَهَيْشَاتِ الْأَسْوَاقِ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وأَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏والْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يَلِيَهُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ لِيَحْفَظُوا عَنْهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَخَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ هُوَ خَالِدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ يُكْنَى أَبَا الْمُنَازِلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وسَمِعْت مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يُقَالُ إِنَّ خَالِدًا الْحَذَّاءَ مَا حَذَا نَعْلًا قَطُّ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَجْلِسُ إِلَى حَذَّاءٍ فَنُسِبَ إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو مَعْشَرٍ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ زِيَادُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم میں سے جو صاحب فہم و ذکا اور سمجھدار ہوں ان کو مجھ سے قریب رہنا چاہیئے، پھر وہ جو ( عقل و دانش میں ) ان کے قریب ہوں، پھر وہ جو ان کے قریب ہوں، تم آگے پیچھے نہ ہونا کہ تمہارے دلوں میں پھوٹ پڑ جائے گی، اور اپنے آپ کو بازار کے شور و غوغا سے بچائے رکھنا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں ابی بن کعب، ابومسعود، ابوسعید، براء، اور انس رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مروی ہے کہ آپ اس بات سے خوش ہوتے کہ مہاجرین اور انصار آپس میں قریب قریب رہیں تاکہ وہ آپ سے ( سیکھے ہوئے مسائل ) محفوظ رکھ سکیں۔
