Baab Fitno Aur Jungon Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نَبْهَانَ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادٌ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَازِعِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْظُرْ مَاذَا تَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْظُرْ مَاذَا تَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ،‏‏‏‏ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ كُنْتَ تُحِبُّنِي فَأَعِدَّ لِلْفَقْرِ تِجْفَافًا،‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ الْفَقْرَ أَسْرَعُ إِلَى مَنْ يُحِبُّنِي مِنَ السَّيْلِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَاهُ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن مغفل رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک آدمی نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اللہ کی قسم! میں آپ سے محبت کرتا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”جو کہہ رہے ہو اس کے بارے میں سوچ سمجھ لو“، اس نے پھر کہا: اللہ کی قسم! میں آپ سے محبت کرتا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”جو کہہ رہے ہو اس کے بارے میں سوچ سمجھ لو“، اس نے پھر کہا: اللہ کی قسم! میں آپ سے محبت کرتا ہوں، اسی طرح تین دفعہ کہا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”اگر تم مجھ سے واقعی محبت کرتے ہو تو فقر و محتاجی کا ٹاٹ تیار رکھو اس لیے کہ جو شخص مجھے دوست بنانا چاہتا ہے اس کی طرف فقر اتنی تیزی سے جاتا ہے کہ اتنا تیز سیلاب کا پانی بھی اپنے بہاؤ کے رخ پر نہیں جاتا“۔

English Translation

Abdullah bin Maghaffal said: A man said to the Prophet (s.a.w): 'O Messenger of Allah! By Allah! Indeed I love you!' So he said: 'Consider what you say.' He said: 'By Allah! I indeed love you!' Three times. He said: 'If you do love me, then prepare and arm yourself against poverty. For indeed poverty comes faster upon whoever loves me than the flood to its destination.'
