Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: The best statement spoken by the Arab is the saying of Labid: 'Everything aside from Allah perishes.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَريكٌ، عَنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ تَكَلَّمَتْ بِهَا الْعَرَبُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”عرب کا بہترین شعری کلام لبید کا یہ شعر ہے: «ألا كل شيء ما خلا الله باطل» ”سن لو! اللہ کے سوا ہر چیز فانی ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور اسے ثوری اور ان کے علاوہ نے بھی عبدالملک بن عمیر سے روایت کی ہے۔
