Narrated 'Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Every Prophet had a Wali among the Prophets. My Wali is my father Ibrahim the Khalil of my Lord. Then he recited: Verily among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim, are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who have believed. And Allah is the Wali (protector) of the believers (3:68).

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ وُلَاةً مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّ وَلِيِّي أَبِي وَخَلِيلُ رَبِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَرَأَ إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سورة آل عمران آية 68 ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الضُّحَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو الضُّحَى اسْمُهُ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ صُبَيْحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي نُعَيْمٍ وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہر نبی کا نبیوں میں سے کوئی نہ کوئی دوست ہوتا ہے، اور میرے دوست میرے باپ اور میرے رب کے گہرے دوست ابراہیم ہیں۔ پھر آپ نے آیت «إن أولى الناس بإبراهيم للذين اتبعوه وهذا النبي والذين آمنوا والله ولي المؤمنين» ۱؎ پڑھی“۔
